Our book sale fundraiser is just around the corner, and we have over 25,000 books for children and adults priced from $.25 to $3.00. What a deal! This is our only fundraiser this year. Will you help us spread the word?
We're selling the books we can't use for our program to purchase the books the children want most. After all, if we want children to read during the summer with no encouragement from an adult, we have to provide books they actually want to read!
We have a wonderful selection of children's books that simply aren't in demand with the demographic our program serves. As for the adult books, we have everything from cookbooks and coffee table books to the latest fiction and self-help books - all donated by generous folks for the purpose of raising funds for Books for Keeps. Our $.25 book section guarantees there are affordable options for everyone.
New this year: Preview Night! For $10, you get to shop BEFORE the sale opens to the public, and you'll get a free Books for Keeps tote bag. We'll use your entry fee to purchase anywhere from 5-20 books. (Yes, 5-20 books, thanks to partners like First Book and Scholastic who make children's books available to us for as low as $.45 each.)

Fill a bag with as many books as it will hold, for just $5 per bag. We provide the bags.
Books for Keeps needs to raise $30,000 to complete our inventory for the 2013 program by December 31st. That's only $10 per child! In keeping with our commitment to the Clinton Global Initiative, we'll expand to 2 more schools this year, and will need approximately 40,000 books for 3,000 children.
We're raising funds to purchase approximately 20,000 books by Dec. 31st, and they will most likely be rarely-donated, high-demand chapter books for older children. We'll take advantage of as many $.45 book grants as we can, then purchase the remainder for $1-$3 per book.
The book sale will raise a portion of our funds, but we need your help. Please support our 2013 program by sharing this post with your friends, shopping our book sale, and making a tax deductible donation to help us purchase the remaining books we need.
